About Us

The Purpose:

The purpose of this association shall be to provide an organization through which the churches of the association may work for mutual encouragement and information. Each church shall be encouraged to follow the Baptist program of organization and stewardship enlistment, and to provide a working unit through which the missionary commission of our Lord may be carried out.

Member Churches:

The Carolina Baptist Association has as its member churches which agree to cooperate in carrying out the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 28:19,20:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Membership is based on each church being in like Faith and Belief as reflected in the Southern Baptist Convention Faith and Message. Membership does not alter the autonomy of each church or its own direction of seeking knowledge through the Scriptures located in the Holy Bible.

The Work:

The work of the Carolina Baptist Association is divided as Scripture divides it in Matthew 28:19. There are generally three majors areas of work:

1. Evangelism – The ministry of reconciling the lost to God through recognition and belief in Jesus Christ as Savior

A. Sunday School

B. Church Training

C. Women’s Missionary Union

D. Brotherhood

E. Music

F. Evangelism

G. Stewardship

3. Missions – The Member churches of the Carolina Baptist Association are also members of the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention and work cooperatively to establish new work and missions worldwide. The CBA also assists local groups with “New Work” and the establishment of new missions in Horry County, SC.
