Missions Work

After Hurricane Matthew blew through our area, the small town of Nichols was hit hard when a dam north of them broke. The town suffered great loss as a result.  The member churches of the Carolina Baptist Association have partnered with Nichols Baptist Church to minister and rebuild what was damaged.  Since November of 2016, the Carolina Baptist Association along with SC Disaster Relief has been able to help rebuild the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary of Nichols Baptist Church.  The Association continues its relief ministry working on the Parsonage and plans are underway to move out into the neighborhood restoring homes for the families of Nichols.
During the month of December, hundreds of toys were wrapped and given away to the children of Nichols.  The Association also gathered toiletries, food and cleaning supplies that were distributed to those in need.
Much work has been done, but much work remains.  It is the plans of the Carolina Baptist Association to continue this partnership throughout the 2017 year.  Our Summer Mission Team along with other mission teams will be spending a week working in Nichols this summer.  WE NEED HANDS to help us do the work.  The Association team meets each Saturday at Nichols Baptist Church around 7:30 am.  We do ask you bring your on tools.
Funding is also needed to help with the cost of building materials.  All donations will go into a special account for Disaster Relief Outreach.  Please mail all donations to the Carolina Baptist Association, PO Box 1187, Loris, SC 29569.  If you need documentation of the donation, we will be glad to furnish that for you.
